The Bruker RoadRunner is a portable, battery-operated detector for the detection of explosives and narcotics. To maximize the instrument’s usability, it operates on rechargeable batteries, and to extend the life of the instrument in the field, these batteries are ‘hot-swappable’.

The instrument takes measurements in real time, performs detection and self-heals in seconds, ready for a new determination.

RoadRunner operates in two modes. In vapor mode, the detector aspirates vapors from volatile explosives or narcotics and generates results in seconds.

To detect the presence of non-volatile explosives, or to check for personal items, the detector has the same integrated sampling tab insertion system that is used in the Bruker De-tector trace explosives and narcotics detector.

Additionally, RoadRoanner has built-in narcotics detection as standard. Typical applications for this capability include environments such as airports, organized crime, security, access to strategic buildings, customs areas or detention centers.

RoadRunner has been designed for the detection of explosives and narcotics on surfaces and in the air. The user is guided step-by-step through the sampling process by touch screen information.

All final results are presented on the screen in a traffic light system. When a substance is identified, its name appears on the screen.
